One Platform, Many Wire Cloth Grades

Velp has consolidated its stainless steel wire mesh program into a single supply platform covering food grade cloth, copper and brass shielding mesh, and wide rolls for converters. The company now quotes these grades together so buyers can combine filtration, screening and shielding requirements in one shipment.

The range runs from fine 400 mesh cloth used in laboratory and pharmaceutical filtration to heavy 4 mesh screen for mining and aggregate sizing. Weave options include plain, twill, dutch and five-heddle, each with a different balance of aperture accuracy, flow rate and mechanical strength.

Quality Control

Velp inspects wire cloth for mesh count, wire diameter, aperture tolerance and surface defects. Food grade material is produced without lubricant residue and packed in clean room conditions with protective interleaving. For shielding mesh, the company reports copper purity at 99.99% and supplies roll resistance data on request.

Because stainless cloth is easily damaged in transit, Velp ships rolls in rigid tubes or wooden cases with edge protection, and panels are separated by paper interleaves. Customers ordering mix counts should note that dutch weave cloth is quoted by absolute micron rating rather than mesh count, because the twilled structure changes the nominal aperture; Velp's sales engineers confirm the correct rating against the customer's sieve or filter specification before production begins.
